Rental terms

The terms should be as clear as the price.

Read these terms before adding credit or starting a rental.

Effective September 24, 2026

Account and eligibility

You must be legally able to enter a contract and provide accurate account information. Keep your sign-in details, SSH keys, and API keys secure. You are responsible for actions taken through your account and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized use.

Rentals and billing

UnifiedRack rentals use prepaid account credit. Prices, available hardware, and features are shown in the catalog and confirmed at launch. A price is locked for that rental. Adding credit does not reserve a Mac.

Every dedicated Mac starts with a prepaid 24-hour exclusive lease. That period begins when the Mac is handed over ready to use. You have sole and exclusive use and control of the Mac during the lease, subject to the operator's limited administrative support described here and Apple's license terms. The first 24-hour charge is not refundable once handover is complete. If you ask to end the rental early, it remains allocated to you until that period ends. Afterward, continued use is billed by the minute until you stop or end the rental.

If another rental type is enabled, its billing basis and any minimum will be shown before launch. A day is 24 hours and a month is 30 days. Where offered, 7-day and 30-day commitments are prepaid, do not renew automatically, and apply the rate and duration shown in your accepted quote.

Launch requires the initial rental price and the additional protected credit shown in your quote. Protected credit remains yours, is reserved for that Mac, and funds usage only after available credit runs out. Unused protected credit returns to your available balance when released. Disconnecting does not stop billing.

When available credit runs out, the Mac first uses its protected runtime credit. When funded runtime ends, a Dedicated Mac and all its files are permanently deleted. The launch flow shows this before you start.

Credit and refunds

Card top-ups are processed through Stripe. Failed preparation before a rental is handed over reverses the associated rental charge and protected credit. Once a dedicated Mac has been handed over, its first 24-hour charge is not refundable for voluntary early release. Unused prepaid commitments are not refunded for early deletion.

For verified provider-caused downtime, we may add wallet credit for affected prepaid time. The credit is limited to the affected charge and is not an automatic refund to your card. When you close an account, positive remaining credit is handled through the refund process shown during closure: eligible card-funded credit may be returned through Stripe; other credit is refunded manually to a verified address. Refunds cannot exceed available credit. Any refund required by applicable law remains available.

If UnifiedRack ends a rental early for maintenance, a hardware fault, or our error, unused prepaid time is credited to your wallet by the minute. We do not credit prepaid time when access ends for a terms violation, abuse, or non-payment.

USDC deposits

If enabled in Billing, send only native USDC on the selected network: Base or Ethereum. We credit a deposit after the required network confirmations. The confirmation count and deposit address appear in Billing. Network fees are paid separately. A different token, network, or address may not be credited or recoverable; contact us if you send funds incorrectly. Transactions and addresses are public on the blockchain.

Files and backups

You are responsible for your files, software, and separate backups. We do not back up rental disks. At the end of a dedicated rental, we remove its customer account and run a cleanroom teardown before reuse. The process removes the rental account and restores selected system areas; it is not a bit-for-bit wipe of every system area. We cannot restore customer files after teardown. Virtual disks and attached storage are destroyed when their funded retention ends.

Acceptable use

Use the service only for lawful work you are authorized to do. You may not use it to distribute illegal content or malware, attack or scan third-party systems without permission, interfere with another customer's service, bypass isolation or security controls, abuse payment or network resources, or share account, Mac, or access credentials with people who are not authorized to use your rental.

Dedicated Macs may be used only for permitted developer services: software development, building software from source, continuous integration, automated testing during development, and developer tools that support those activities.

You are responsible for complying with the licenses for software you install or use, including Apple software. Do not sign into iCloud or enable Find My or FileVault on a rented Mac. These features can bind the Mac to your Apple Account or prevent it from starting after your rental ends, making it unavailable to other customers. Follow Apple's terms when using developer services. We do not control or recover data held by Apple or other services you connect to the Mac.

Availability and suspension

The service has no uptime guarantee or service-level agreement. Macs are hosted in UnifiedRack-operated facilities that are not data centers; power, network or maintenance events can affect availability. Hardware, networking, power, maintenance, or other events can interrupt access. We may perform maintenance without advance notice when needed.

We may limit, suspend, or end access to protect the service or others, respond to a legal requirement, investigate suspected abuse, or address unpaid or depleted credit. We will apply the billing and credit rules above, including the minimum dedicated lease, any applicable early-end credit, and provider-failure credit. Suspension does not extend a prepaid period unless we add a credit under those rules.

Apple software

Before using a Dedicated Mac, each renter must review and agree to Apple's macOS Software License Agreement and the license terms for preinstalled software, such as Xcode. See Apple's current software license agreements. Dedicated Mac leases are at least 24 consecutive hours. During the lease, the renter has sole and exclusive use and control, subject to our administrative support. Apple's current terms may impose additional requirements.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties and do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

To the extent allowed by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, including lost profits or data. Our total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This does not limit liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct.

Termination and changes

You can stop or delete a rental from your account, subject to its 24-hour minimum exclusive lease. You can close your account in Account settings after active rentals and reservations end. We may terminate access as described above. Ending access does not restore files already deleted or remove records we must retain.

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post updated terms with a new effective date. Continued use after that date means you accept the changes where the law permits; otherwise, your continued use is governed by the applicable consent requirements.

Law and contact

These terms are offered by UnifiedRack. They are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, without limiting mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
